He chose to pursue medical studies in Trinidad, graduating as a top student. His practice focuses on complex neurosurgical procedures, including awake brain surgeries, which involve operating on patients while they are conscious to ensure critical brain functions are preserved.

At The Ottawa Hospital, Dr. Mohammed performs approximately 50 to 60 awake craniotomies annually, primarily for patients with brain tumors located near areas responsible for speech or movement.
